Couple of good techniques, just wish the video had been just a tad bit longer, it’s always fun watching Chief Instructor Joe Dearman teach.

Ditto what Jeremy said :) And of course class was last night lol. Must wait for next week. I don’t like my neck grabbed so it’s probably a good thing to work on.

Master Dearman, You are taller than Sensei Hirakis so it looks like you have an advantage by being able to bring your arm to head height, disable his one arm, and strike. What do you do if you are quite a bit smaller than your attacker? Or if his arms are longer than yours so you can’t get a good hit at his Adam’s apple or chest area? (Ditto what Amy Lynn said!)

Master Dearman, Can NI to the groin or Ku to inside of knee be effective strikes if attacker has enough upper body strength to hold you off?

Just to point out, that’s just a few out of thousand and one different ways to break a choke hold on you, you could use a trap and throw, simple Ni kick to the groin, any of the exhibited moves, and much much more. From what I’ve seen of the Masters, they are pretty diverse and probably have a wide variety of techniques available to use in that given situation.

Through repetition we remember the technique and movement. Through study we find in our self the ability to stay focused on what it is we are trying to accomplish, regardless of what the situation throws in our way.
