Wisdom
"Your pain is the breaking of the shell that encloses your understanding. Even as the stone of the fruit must break, that its heart may stand in the sun, so must you know pain."
Kahlil Gibran
Okay, maybe this sounds totally dumb and middle-schoolish, but how fun (& funny!) would it be to have a talent show? Charge admission or something. Just a totally random thought that popped into my brain…
Good idea, any volunteers? I know a few people that can put on one heck-of-a martial arts demonstration!
If the hotel doesn’t mind I can bring a Holland and do showmanship…kinda boring though unless you know what I’m doing haha. Most of my talent would be in what I know…I doubt anyone would want to sit through a lecture on rabbit coat color genetics, huh? Or how to uncook eggs? Or why the sky is blue? Okay I’m done now. I like to pretend I can sing but no way will I sing in front of everyone! Hmm…I could sign to a song though (used to be an interpreter). Oohhhhhhh I know, I should find some sort of demo I can do…like lab-ish. But a lot of the neatest ones require a fume hood because of the gases given off after the reaction…
Maybe some of the Star Wars fanatics out there could stage a battle with “light sabers” and all haha. I know quite a few of you would have fun with that!!
Just throwing out ideas
I’m sure there are plenty of talented folk around.
How about Karaoke?
Oh I like that idea (Karaoke)!!!
I had another idea last night too - a square dance!
Thank you for your suggestions!
oh please no, not kareokee!!
What about a mock American Idol talent show.
get All of the Distict Master invole with this. with a mock judges.
This will be my first time attending the WI retreat, so I don’t know if it’s typical to have entertainment planned for the evening, but I like that it’s being considered. I have young children at home so I don’t get many nights out. I was really hoping to do some dancing, but in lieu of that, how about a ‘pass the mic’ and everyone just brings their best joke? Just another idea to drop in the hat.
Looking forward to seeing everyone there!
