Wisdom
Through repetition we remember the technique and movement. Through study we find in our self the ability to stay focused on what it is we are trying to accomplish, regardless of what the situation throws in our way.

Yipes! Poor Master Wobert ((hugs)) I hope you had some Excedrin with you! On a new note - thanks for the insight - now I notice I tend to pull away, I never noticed that before.
Thanks for shedding some light on this one. The chuto to the side in this cba has always seemed disconnected to me compared to the rest of the movements. (It’s always been my toughest cba for that reason.) This exercise gave it new purpose and emphasis. Thanks again. Oh, and Master Wolbert, we feel your pain. Well, not really, but it seemed like the right thing to say. Thanks for throwing yourself on that bomb again for the sake of the rest of the sanchinkas!
Wow, thanks Chief Instructor Master Joe, I really liked this video! It really helped me on what I’ve been working on lately.
Bow - Question for someone who was there:
How was lower body used in the execution of the shuto? From the angle of the video, it looks like the hips were squared to the opponent, but I can’t really tell. (bow) Thank you…
First off (comfort to Master Wolbert), I’ve had my bell rung a few times by those hehe.
I think for the most part, that headbutt illustrates just how versatile techniques can be and it opens up the eyes of the masters and students alike to the possibility of variation. He went from a shuto to a multi-combination headbutt/shuto which could ultimately stun or disable an opponent and open up opportunities he wouldn’t have normally had with just the shuto.
Personally, I don’t like using my head as a weapon, but if it were life or death, I would be inclined to break the nose of my opponent if it meant living.
