Carolyn Hinckley, Rest in Peace
We are saddened to learn that Carolyn Hinckley died earlier this morning. Carolyn was a special part of the O.S.K.A., volunteering as a counselor at the Youth Leadership Super Camp and as an assistant instructor in various classes in the Kalamazoo, Michigan area. Carolyn studied Sanchin-Ryu with us for over ten years, earning her black belt several years ago. She began studying Sanchin-Ryu with Jake Biernacki, DM after a bout with cancer and had fought a long battle with the disease throughout the years that we’d known her. She will be remembered by all of us for her positive attitude, free-spirited nature, love for her family and the way she overcame so many obstacles.
We send our condolences to her husband John and her daughters, Catherine and Sarah. Our thoughts and prayers are with you.

John, Catherine and Sarah,
We are so sorry to hear of your loss, our thoughts and prayers are with you in this difficult time. Keirsten has wonderful memories of her as her counselor.
I know there are no words that can ease the hurt but always keep her near to your heart and she will always be with you and guiding you.
The Sanchin family is very close and we all mourn with you today.
We are so sorry,
If there is anything at all that we can do please do not hesitate to get in touch (734 455 7041)

I pray for you all to find peace and comfort…
I can only give you the lesson I learned from my mother’s recent passing… Try not to think of “no longer seeing her”. But think, “We had so many GOOD TIMES together”… Just be happy that you had those good times to remember… You would have been so much poorer if not for those times…
She is free from trouble now… Kind of like RETIREMENT… Try to be happy for her ‘retirement’ from the problems of this world…
You WILL see her again…

I remember Corolyns love of input.
The desire for knowledge. The meals shared at CGM’S Dojo talking of her family. When of she asked me to share my Ni Hachi in the park at CGM’s dojo, and remebering the time with me for years.
She was so special on so many levels.
I was priveliged to learn some life’s special lessons from her!
I remember when Carolyn and her family drove to New England and she visited the Exeter, NH class. It was a joy to have her here.
She was a great example of how to face adversity.
Love and prayers to her family.

DragonCamp night owl workouts are my favorite moments shared with Carolyn. Remarkable how she found a common thread to tie with nearly everyone.
Sorely missed, but with us always in heart and spirit.
Sincere condolences to John, Sarah, and Catherine.
